High power liquid-cooled EV charging cable can carry 600A high current

In recent years, user demand for electric vehicle range has continued to increase, and people are increasingly dissatisfied with the current speed of car charging. With ordinary fast charging still taking more than an hour, the development of high-power fast charging has become the industry's recognized development direction, and fast charging technology has become the focus of industry competition. Liquid-cooled charging cables are currently the most widely used cables. Compared to ordinary cables, they allow for cooling and heat dissipation while reducing the diameter of the cable, ultimately making the charging unit lighter.


The liquid-cooled EV charging cables currently on the market are divided into oil-cooled and water-cooled cables depending on the cooling medium. Oil-cooled cables design the insulation layer as an oil tube, which carries away the heat generated during the operation of the cable through the circulating flow of the insulation oil, keeping the cable at a lower temperature throughout the charging process and enhancing the current-carrying capacity. The water-cooled cable uses pure water or antifreeze as the non-insulating liquid to dissipate the heat generated by the cable through the circulation of the liquid and provide current-carrying capacity.


Compared to the two types of liquid-cooled cables, the oil-cooled cable has a higher current-carrying capacity, it charges faster, and can carry 600A of high current. Due to the special design, the wire diameter of the water-cooled cable can be made very small, which is beneficial to customers.
