The CCS joint charging standard, which includes the American standard CCS1 and the European standard CCS2, is a CCS standard jointly issued by the eight major American and German automotive companies in 2012. the CCS connector is a DC fast charging connector with charging speeds ranging from 25KWh to 350KWh. Most electric vehicles are now equipped with this type of socket, capable of charging on public DC fast chargers and home AC devices, and are more popular in Europe.
With the rapid development of electric vehicles, users have higher requirements for charging speed. DC charging connectors are gaining popularity in the market, and connector standards are being upgraded as higher power and faster charging technologies become available. In North America, the CCS type 1 connector with J1772 connector adds two fast charging pins underneath. In Europe, CCS has combined type2 with two fast charging pins, called CCS type2, and CCS has added two additional DC power lines to the type2 plug to increase the charging voltage.
The EV charging port integrates both AC and DC parts, where the two thick connectors in the lower half are the DC part. Throughout the charging process, communication between the EV and the charging post is via the Control Pilot (CP) interface. Of course, not every place has the same interface at the AC end, for example, the charging interface is not uniform in Europe, the United States, Japan, Korea and other countries.
Now FAFA-E will introduce the role of each jack inside the CCS connector charging interface.
Control Pilot (CP) interface transmits analog PWM signals and digital signals based on Power Line Carrier (PLC) modulation to analog signals of ISO 15118 or DIN SPEC 70121.
The Proxmity Pilot (PP) interface transmits signals that enable the EV to monitor whether the charging connector plug is properly connected.
Productive Earth (PE) serves primarily as a ground protection and is the ground lead for the device.
Neutral (N) wires, L1 (AC single phase), L2, L3 (AC three phase); DC+ (DC power positive), DC- (DC power negative) have the main function of transmitting electrical energy.
In order to avoid rain and dust for charger during charging, our FAFA-E connectors have a protection level up to IP67, which is fully capable of preventing foreign objects and dust intrusion.
